BIRTH Event (MyDC only)
The BIRTH event is a MyDC-only event that is automatically created with a FRESH event and added to the calf's CowCard. Changes to the BIRTH event can only be made from the dam's FRESH event.
Event Guidelines
Use the mobile app or the web version of PULSE to enter events! Tap Events in the mobile app to get started, or see Add Events to learn more about adding events from web. PULSE supports adding events that have occurred within the last year.
Note the guidelines below when working with the BIRTH event:
- A BIRTH event cannot be manually added to a calf; it is automatically added as part of a FRESH event for the dam.
- Details that are prompted for the BIRTH event are set in Items to be Prompted for New Calves.
- If FRESH event Optional Details are set to include weight, PULSE will prompt for calf birth weight (BWEIGHT) and dam weight (WEIGHT).
Process Changes
When you add events from web or the mobile app, your updates are sent to PULSE and then on to DairyComp 305 for DairyComp Unlimited dairies (WiFi or data connection required).
The BIRTH event is automatically added to the calf after the FRESH event is processed for the dam. The EDAY Event day for the BIRTH event matches the FRESH EDAY.
