Activate Integration

Only users who are assigned a Role with Integrations Management permissions can connect partner integrations. See Edit Dairy User Permissions and Manage Dairy Roles for more information.

Prior to activating your integration, you must first establish a sync with your on-premise equipment and create a Nedap-Bi account. Contact your partner system representative and request the following: 

• A scheduled sync with Nedap-Bi. This will allow VAS to pull refreshed data into PULSE.
• Assistance with creating a Nedap-Bi account. Be sure to note your credentials, as you will need them when connecting the integration in Step 4.

To receive animal alerts in DairyComp 305 and PULSE, you must first create and configure several items as follows:

1. In DC305 DairyComp 305 - VAS Dairy Management Software, access Item Definitions (ALTER\2) and create or modify the required items to store alerts. Expand Required Items below to learn more about each item.
2. In DC305, run the command SETMILK\M8!SETMILK\INSTALL to map your items. The Nedap Setup screen displays.

   

3. Assign the required items. Expand Required Items below to learn more about each item.
4. Click OK.

Required Items

IMPORTANT: Item names can be customized and may differ from those suggested by VAS. If you choose to customize your item names, be sure to use the correct names when you create worklist commands.

NOTE: In DC305, the animal's flag value indicates if the animal requires attention. If the animal has a flag value of 0, the animal does not require attention. If the animal has a flag value of 1, the animal requires attention.

Follow these steps to generate partner worklists using the new items and send them to PULSE.

1. In DC305, access Command Abbreviations (ALTER\3) and create or modify the required worklist commands. Expand Required Worklist Commands below to learn more about each required worklist.

Alert items automatically push to PULSE. No additional commands are needed to send the alerts or lists to PULSE.

2. If present, delete the MILK\VHU1 command from Command Abbreviations (ALTER\3). This command was used to import alert items to the on-premise integration and is no longer needed.

Required Worklist Commands

IMPORTANT: If you are not using the suggested item names from Required Items, be sure to correctly define worklists using your custom item names.

Before you can activate your integration, you must first have the Nedap-Bi credentials you established as part of Step 1, as well as all required equipment installed on-site. Follow these steps to establish the connection to the partner system:

1. In PULSE, navigate to Partners > Integrations Gallery > Nedap.
2. Click See Details or See Requirements on the Nedap integration card.
3. Follow the Connection Instructions on the right side of the page to establish the connection:
   1. Click Add New Alias, then complete the following fields:
      • Alias: Enter your Dairy Name. If you have multiple dairies, we recommend you use different names for each alias.
   2. Click Authorize integration, then complete the following steps on the Nedap website that automatically opens.
   3. Click Select Pens to choose pens that use Nedap. Enter the pen numbers and select the correct pens from the results list, which lists the pens in ascending order.
   4. Click the Connection Status toggle and verify the status switches to Active.

      

   5. Click Save.
   6. If necessary, click Edit Integration to make any adjustments or edits and save your changes.
