What's New?

The new PULSE Testday page makes it easier for you to review and analyze your herd's latest testday results! Use this page to check your herd's testday data in extensive, easy-to-follow graphs and tables. Navigate to the various tabs to see your herd's testday results broken down in different ways.

Zoetis uses your herd's genomic samples and their genomic testing tools to compile comprehensive genomic data. The genomic sample testing results build and provide insights to help optimize your dairy management practices. When you enable this integration, you can submit and check your samples using PULSE. Then, as soon as Zoetis returns the results, you can view your animal's genomic data directly in your PULSE CowCards, or you can utilize the genomic data in your reports.

You can now use a keyboard to enter values for Pen Counts and Target DM/HD Dry Matter per Head on the Bunk Scoring page.

Previously, you could only increase or decrease the Pen Counts and Target DM/HD values by clicking the +/- buttons. To learn more about FeedComp in PULSE, see FeedComp.

Use the new OneView dashboards in PULSE to view all your inventory data for all of your dairies in one convenient location! At a glimpse, view your inventory statistics — past, present, and future — across all dairies to guide your herd management decisions. You can also monitor health trends and other changes in the herd. Use OneView's easy-to-follow graphs and various view and filter options to quickly find inventory information.

VAS is excited to welcome new MyDC dairies to PULSE! MyDC makes adding your dairy, setting up your subscription, and importing your animals easy. Be sure to use the Get Started with MyDC button on the upper right side of your account home page to get started.

The cutting edge VAS HealthVAL reporting tool is now available to all PULSE users! The HealthVAL Insights report provides visibility into the diseases affecting your herd and allows you to compare your herd health events to customized benchmarking categories, including local dairies and dairies of similar size. At a glance, you can assess your herd's events and gather insights into the best areas to focus on for improvement.

By tracking and examining health events for your herd, you can implement new strategies and protocols for avoiding or treating specific illnesses. Over time, you can lower treatment and production loss costs, and have fewer milk and beef withholds. You can find this feature under the Insights menu:

Based on your feedback and input, HealthVAL continues to evolve to best serve your needs. Here's what's new in HealthVAL for our valued beta testers: 

• Mortality data improvements: Mortality data is now available on the Sold & Died page, which breaks the data down into three categories (DOA, Youngstock, and Cows).

• Additional Health Index Score based on animal age and cost of events to date. The higher the index value, the more likely the animal should be sold. Analysis data breakdown: Health Index Analysis data is now available for Cows and Youngstock to give you better visibility into health events for your animals by age group.

• Graphing improvements: The graphing of herd health data now includes the option to view events as a percentage or case count.

  

  We've also updated how data for the current month is graphed to make it clear that the month is not complete.

  

You can now use the Settings (Dairy) page to set alert thresholds for common health events that occur across your herd, send notifications to your dairy team when your herd exceeds those thresholds, and set the upper and lower limits used to track other KPIs Key Performance Indicators across your herd.

Dairies using Performance Indicators for the first time need to set a few things up on the Settings (Dairy) page before PULSE will examine thresholds and send alerts to your team. If you're not quite sure how to set up these features in PULSE, see Set Up Health Indicators and Alerts for guidance through the entire process from start to finish.

The new Event Lists are a type of worklist that allow you to add events to animals on the list and then mark the animals as DONE. These actionable lists simplify and speed up event entry tasks and help to keep your animal records current. First generate the event report using Report/Worklist Builder, and then use the Create Open Worklist option to make the report actionable.

Use the event worklist to mark your animals as PREG Pregnant, OPEN, FRESH, or to add other events from a convenient list and speed up your event entry tasks. See Build an Event List and Process Open Worklist in PULSE to learn more!

PULSE worklist options are now available from the DairyComp/MyDC > Reports/Worklists menu.

You can still use Report/Worklist Builder to generate or customize your worklist reports and then convert them to actionable lists. See Create Worklist from Report to learn more!

MyDC now supports milk recording integrations with multiple DRPCs! If your dairy uses AgSource, AgriTech, or Amelicor for milk testing, you can now seamlessly share your VAS herd data with your DRPC Dairy Records Processing Center partner and access your testday data in PULSE, including the new Testdays.

In a mobile worklist, you now have the option to view all animals across all pens. To view animals across all pens, simply select the All Pens option.

When you select All Pens for an Open Tasks list, the system lists all protocol tasks for all animals in all pens. When you select All Pens for a hospital list, to-do list, or vet list, the system lists all animals in all pens that are included on the list.

In addition to the Allflex AWR300 RFID scanner, DC on Mobile now also supports the Allflex APR600 RFID scanner, allowing you to scan animals with the mobile app. The APR600 can be paired to your Pocket CowCard for Android or iOS devices.

In addition to supporting OvSynch and other reproduction protocols, MyDC dairies can now add “Other” health protocols for treatment of common illnesses or conditions. Health protocols help your dairy standardize treatment plans and automatically generate tasks on treatment days in your Open Tasks list. Add your new protocol using a template from the Dairy Protocols Dairy protocols include a series of treatments or tasks that follow a prescribed order and schedule. Protocols may be defined for reproduction purposes, to treat an illness, or for routine vaccinations. page or create a custom protocol using Protocol Builder. Then you'll be able to select the new protocol during event entry.

Creating custom reports just got easier! Click the Customize button in the Template Gallery to quickly modify a standard report.

In addition to making reports more flexible, this new option saves you time and makes Report/Worklist Builder even more powerful.

You can now run reports for today or up to 30 days in the future.

The future date option allows you to collect additional data and gives you even more choices when planning tasks and managing your herd. See Save a Report/Worklist to learn more!

• View, save, and export past worklists: You can now access previously run worklists on the new Past Worklists tab. Click the worklist you’d like to view, and then use the print and export options to save the worklists for reference or analysis purposes.

• Process worklist updates from web: The web version of PULSE now allows you to view mobile worklist changes that are ready to process, and it includes a Process Changes button to move them forward.

  

  This option is handy when your mobile device is having connection issues or if you want to refresh the status of your active worklists. Selecting this option processes tasks marked as DONE on your mobile devices and synchronizes outstanding lists and all open worklist to reflect the latest updates. When you process the changes from the web interface, the listed tasks are marked as DONE on all mobile devices and all open worklists are synchronized to reflect these latest updates. • Grid view for mobile worklists: You can now view your mobile worklists in an easy-to-use grid format! Simply tap the Grid button to view your animal identifiers in four columns.

MyDC subscribers can now view protocol tasks for the next 7 days from the new Upcoming Tasks tab in your Open Tasks worklist.

This allows you to see daily tasks before the day they are scheduled, which makes it easier to plan ahead and keep your protocol tasks on track. You can use the new tab to view, print, or export upcoming tasks. See Manage Protocol Tasks to learn more!

MyDC subscribers can use the new CowCard Tasks tab to view an animal's protocol tasks.

We've added a new Upcoming tab to the Integrations Gallery page! On the Upcoming tab, you can join betas for one of our new, exciting integrations or simply learn more about what's coming out next.

Click the Join the Beta button on any integration card to be one of the first customers to use a brand new product integration! Participating in beta testing with our latest integrations allows you to provide feedback and ideas for improvement that make PULSE an even more powerful solution—ultimately benefiting you and your dairy.

We have also added Search and Filter features to make it easier to use the Integrations Gallery and find the integrations that you want.

Mullins Cheese, Inc. provides milk plant data for participating dairy producers. The new VAS PULSE Platform Dairy Dashboard widgets display delivery details and bacteria data for the last 14 days, including the following details:

• Amount of milk delivered
• Milk composition details, including fat and protein percentages
• Milk testing results, including somatic cell count (SCC Somatic cell count), coliform count, lab pasteurized count (LPC), and standard plate count (SPC) data

Use the new Pedigree tab on the CowCard to learn more about an animal's dam and sire, the dam's lactation history, and offspring information for the animal's calf.

Pedigree information can be used to predict or determine which important traits may be inherited by an animal. For example, you can use a dam's lactation history to predict how much milk its calf may produce in its lifetime.

Worklist Builder and Report Builder now provide a more inclusive search tool. When you search for an item, you'll now see results that match either the item name or the description, making it easier to find the items you need.

You now have the option to print and export your worklists as PDF or CSV. This functionality provides additional opportunities for analyzing your herd data or saving your lists for reference purposes.

You can now add an event to multiple animals at once from the web version of PULSE! Simply go to the Animals list or the Pens list and select the animals that need the event. Then click Add Event in the upper right corner and finish setting up the event details.

All4hooves cattle foot trimming software is a multilingual recording system for today’s modern hoof trimmer. All4hooves's cloud solution is fast and simple to operate for hoof trimmers on farm, and allows dairy managers, owners, vets, and consultants to analyze the herd's trim Dairy cattle typically have their hooves inspected and, if necessary, trimmed every 4–6 months. A strategic hoof-trimming program might evaluate hooves before first calving, between 60 and 150 days in milk, and before dry-off. and lame Lameness includes any abnormality which causes an animal to change the way it walks, and can be caused by a range of foot and leg conditions, including hoof ailments, hock damage, bruising, sores, or cuts. data from their computer, phone, or tablet.

The PULSE Settings page is now organized by category, making it faster and easier to find the options you need! View or edit your General Settings, Health Settings, and Reproduction Settings by clicking on the tabs at the top of the page.

For over 60 years, Datamars has supported livestock farmers by providing real-time animal performance data and activity alerts. Their Tru-Test Automated Heat Monitoring products monitor individual animals' heat and health behavior and provide accurate insights about animal activity. PULSE will display live data from Tru-Test Automated Heat Monitoring in a future release. See Tru-Test Automated Heat Monitoring Overview to learn more.

Are there worklists and reports you run on a daily, weekly, or even hourly basis? Now you can set them to run automatically as needed, making your life just a little easier! To add worklists and reports to the schedule, click the Schedule Process button from your Dairy Reports/Worklists page.

After your worklists and reports are scheduled, you can use the new Process Scheduler calendar to view all scheduled activities.

CowCards on the mobile app now include the Add Event button, allowing you to add events to your animals while out on the dairy.

Check on the status of all your on-premise applications from our updated Integration Status page! The fresh new design replaces the former pop-up status window and includes separate cards for each of your connected products, allowing you to quickly see if they're properly communicating and syncing data with PULSE.

The latest version of the mobile app now includes a "Tasks" option instead of "Lists." While the option name has changed, all of the worklist features and functionality you've grown accustomed to remain the same. Continue to use your powerful TODO, Hospital, and Vet lists as you always have!
