The settings within the Production Constraints page are used to manage the limits and warnings for low milk weights and somatic cell count warnings. You can find this feature under the DairyComp/MyDC menu > Settings option on the General Settings
Use the fields in this window to set warning message thresholds, then click the blue checkbox. Once a new value is set, a green checkmark indicator temporarily appears:
- Low Milk Warning: Milk weights at or below this value trigger a warning message in system reports.
- High Somatic Cell Count Warning Threshold: Somatic cell counts (SCC
Somatic cell count) at or above this value trigger a warning condition in system reports.
NOTE: SCC is an indicator of milk quality, as most somatic cells found in milk are white blood cells, which are produced as an immune response to an infection. Generally, lower SCC values point to better animal health and milk quality.
