Complete Tasks (v2)

Users must have Herd Read permissions to view Tasks lists, and users must have Herd Write permissions to update Tasks lists. See Edit Dairy User Permissions if you need help updating user permissions.

Worklists include animals that need to be seen by your dairy workers or animal health experts for a variety of reasons, such as performing pregnancy checks or treating animals in a hospital pen. Follow the steps below when checking or treating animals by worklist type:

  • Get worklist updates from PULSE: Always tap Refresh Lists button Refresh Lists at the top of Tasks screen before starting on a worklist.
  • Send animal updates to PULSE: In any list, tap Process All Changes buttonProcess All Changes at the top of the screen to send your herd updates to PULSE. If you do not see this button, you do not have any changes to process.

  • Queue an animal on a vet list: You can add an animal to the queue if you need more time to complete an animal check or to gather diagnosis details. See Queue an animal on a vet list to learn how to queue an animal.

    Once an animal is queued, the system displays the Queued indicator next to the animal's IDClosed Identifier on the To Do tab icon To Do tab. The system removes animals from the queue once they are processed and marked done.

  • Add an animal to a worklist: Once you've found an animal using search, you can tap Add to List to add the animal to the current worklist.
  • Switch from list view to grid view: When you select a pen, the animals are displayed in list view by default. Tap Settings to enable or disable Grid View.
  • Search for animals across the entire herd: Use the search feature to find any animal in the herd, regardless of which worklist they're currently on. While searching for animals in a worklist, the blue check mark icon shows you which animals are DONE, and the NEEDED icon indicates that the animal is on the current worklist. No indication is displayed if the animal is on a different worklist.
  • Move an animal from the Done tab icon Done tab to the To Do tab icon To Do tab: You can only apply some changes, like adding a new event or editing an existing event, to animals in the To Do tab icon To Do tab. If you need to move an animal back to the tab, go to the Done tab icon Done tab, tap the animal, and tap Undo.
  • See which animals still need processing or are already done: When you tap or scan an animal on a worklist, the NEEDED icon indicates that the animal is on the current worklist, and the NOT NEEDED icon indicates that the animal is on a different worklist.
  1. Select a pen or All Pens to open the list.
  2. In the list's To Do tab icon To Do tab, scan the animal to see if it's needed or tap the animal ID.
  3. If necessary, apply any treatment(s) specified for all active protocols.
  4. Tap Mark as Done to finish processing the animal and move it to the Done tab icon Done tab.

  3. At the bottom of the screen, scroll left or right to see all events. Tap the event you need or tap Events to see the full list of events.
  4. Enter the event details.
  5. If you only need to add one event for the animal, tap Save and Mark as Done. To add more events, tap Save and repeat the steps to add another event.

  2. In the list’s To Do tab icon To Do tab, tap or scan the animal.
  3. At the bottom of the screen, scroll left or right to see all events. Tap the event you need or tap Events to see the full list of events.
  4. Edit the event details.

    OR

    Tap the Delete button Delete button to delete the event.

  5. If you only need to modify one event for the animal, tap Save and Mark as Done. To modify more events, tap Save and repeat the steps to modify another event.

If the animal has passed a check, has no milk or beef withholds, and is ready to move out of the hospital pen, add a MOVE event to move the animal out of the hospital pen:

NOTE: If the animal has a milk withhold and you try to move the animal to a milking pen, the system displays a warning message.
  1. Select a pen or All Pens to open the list.
  2. In the list’s To Do tab icon To Do tab, tap or scan the animal.
  3. Navigate to the bottom of the screen and scroll through the events, then tap Events.
  4. From the list of events, tap 9 • MOVE.
  5. Enter the event details, including the pen that you want to move the animal to.
  6. Tap Save and Mark as Done.

Follow the steps below to process a task on an Open Tasks worklist:

  1. Select a pen or All Pens to open the list.
    After you select a pen (or all pens) in your Open Tasks list, you can tap Filters at the top right of the screen to set your options. A badge on the icon indicates how many filters are currently applied to your list.
  2. In the list's To Do tab icon To Do tab, tap or scan the animal ID.
  3. Tap on the animal's protocol task. If necessary, apply any treatment(s) specified for all active protocols.
  4. Tap Complete or Skip to finish processing the animal and move it to the Done tab icon Done tab.

    5. If you need to move an animal back to the tab, go to the Done tab icon Done tab, tap the animal, and tap Undo.

Follow the steps below to process an animal on a to-do list:

Select a pen or All Pens to open the list. In the list's To Do tab icon To Do tab, scan or tap the animal. The app automatically moves the animal to the Done tab icon Done tab.

If you need to move an animal back to the tab, go to the Done tab icon Done tab, tap the animal, and tap Undo.

  1. Select a pen or All Pens to open the list.
  2. In the list's To Do tab icon To Do tab, scan the animal to see if it's needed or tap the animal ID.
  3. If necessary, apply any treatment(s) specified for all active protocols.
  4. Tap Mark as Done to finish processing the animal and move it to the Done tab icon Done tab.
NOTE: You can only complete the following steps before an animal is marked as DONE.

  1. Select a pen or All Pens to open the list.

  2. In the list's To Do tab icon To Do tab, scan the animal to see if it's needed or tap the animal ID.

  3. Tap Mark as Queued if you need more time or information to complete the animal check or gather diagnosis details. This changes the animal's status to Queued, leaves the animal on the To Do tab icon To Do tab, and adds the animal to the To Do tab icon Queue tab.

NOTE: All queued animals in the vet list are displayed on the To Do tab icon Queue tab regardless of which pen they’re assigned.
  1. Select a pen or All Pens to open the list.
  2. In the list’s To Do tab icon To Do tab, tap or scan the animal.
  3. At the bottom of the screen, scroll left or right to see all events. Tap the event you need or tap Events to see the full list of events. Depending on the vetcode or reason for the check, the list of preassigned events varies.
  4. Enter the event details.
  5. If you only need to add one event for the animal, tap Save and Mark as Done. To add more events, tap Save and repeat the steps to add another event.

  4. Edit the event details or tap the Delete button to delete the event.
  5. If you only need to modify one event for the animal, tap Save and Mark as Done. To modify more events, tap Save and repeat the steps to modify another event.

Animals with active withholds are flagged with a red background at the top of the CowCard. Animals with no withholds have a green background. Tap the milk Milk button or meat Meat button buttons to see whether the animal has a milk or meat withhold and the date the withhold began or was cleared.

Follow the steps below to process an animal on an event worklist:

Select a pen or All Pens to open the list. In the list's Events tab, scan or tap the animal. The app automatically moves the animal to the Done tab icon Done tab.

If you need to move an animal back to the tab, go to the Done tab icon Done tab, tap the animal, and tap Undo.

Tasks completed on the Tasks tab for the last 14 days are recorded on the Transaction Log. See Transaction Log (v2) for more information.

IMPORTANT: PULSE processes worklist updates for animals in the order they are completed, and the last event or status change supersedes previous animal updates. For instance, if an animal is on a vet list for a pregnancy check and is marked as PREGClosed Pregnant, and is later determined to have aborted, ABORT is the final status and animal details adjust accordingly.
