Calf Rearing Characteristics Widget

The Calf Rearing Characteristics widget includes important calf data such as birth date, projected weanClosed A wean event indicates that a calf no longer receives milk for feedings. date, parentage, weight, and feeding details. The widget also includes an option to download the calf's feeding plan as a PDF.

  1. The top row of data includes details about the calf, including the following:

    BDATE: Calf birthdate

    Projected WeanClosed A wean event indicates that a calf no longer receives milk for feedings. Date/Weaned: Date the calf is expected to be weaned or the date the calf was weaned.

    Sex: Calf sex:

    • F: female
    • M: male

    CBRDClosed Cattle breed: Calf breed:

    • H: Holstein
    • J: Jersey
    • G: Guernsey
    • B: Brown Swiss
    • A: Ayrshire
    • M: Milking Shorthorn

    DIDClosed Dam identifier: Calf's dam identifier

    SIDClosed Sire identifier: Calf's sire identifier

    AGEDY: Calf age in days

  2. Click the Download Calf Report button Calf Report (PDF) button to view and/or save a summary of the calf's feeding plan.
  3. Units: Choose the units in which to display data:

    Units: Choose the units in which to display data:

    • Metric: Display data in Kilograms and Liters.
    • Imperial: Display data in Pounds and Gallons.
    NOTE: This setting is independent of the Units selected in your Account Settings and applies to all users in your dairy.
  4. Calf Weight data. If your dairy is equipped with a Förster-Technik half-body scale, this is an actual weight. If not, this value is an estimate based on calf age.
    • 4 days: Calf weight at 4 days old
    • Today: Current calf weight
    • ADG: Average daily weight gain

    • Allowance Ratio: Milk consumed/allowance, in weight and as a percentage
    • # Dips Milk Intake: Total number of periods during which the calf milk consumption is decreased
    • Avg Breaks/Day: Average number of times per day the calf feeding is interrupted
    • Days on Prescription: Number of days on a prescription and the number of days as a percentage of the feeding plan period. For instance, if a calf has been on a prescription for 5 days of 28 days on a feeding plan, the Days on Prescription is 5 (17.86%).
