PULSE Update - Summer 2023
When you add multiple animals to PULSE using the VAS template, additional animal data points are now supported, and PULSE runs through a new validation step to make sure your data falls within expected values. This helps to ensure the accuracy of your herd data, and quickly flags missing details that you can then add or correct.
The newly-added data points relate to the animal’s last BRED event, including the following:
- Date of last breeding, which is required for BRED, PREG Pregnant, or DRY animals
- Sire of last breeding identification details
- Breeding tech information
You can also use the new blood composition data point to specify a crossbred animal’s primary breeds.

Along with the tab name update, we've split Pedigree into two seperate Dam and Sire tables. We've also added a new Offspring table that contains information about the animal's offspring and family tree.
Pedigree information can be used to predict or determine which important traits may be inherited by an animal. For example, you can use a dam's Lactation History to predict how much milk its calf may produce in its lifetime.

MyDC dairies can now upload their testday results using a PULSE template! Begin by downloading the template file and then add your results to the spreadsheet template. Then upload the results and resolve any errors as needed.
After your testday data is imported, you can view a herd-level summary of the testday results or individual animal results from the CowCard.
