Configure a Tru-Test SRS2 Scanner (v1)

The Tru-Test SRS2 RFID scanner is a portable hand-held device that allows you to quickly read, record, and transfer EIDClosed 15-digit electronic ID number associated with the animal eartag tag information for the animals in your herd.

IMPORTANT: Tru-Test SRS2 RFID scanners are currently only supported in the Android version of the mobile app. Always charge your scanner to 100% before configuring settings. Expand the sections below to learn more:

Before you connect the Tru-Test SRS2 RFID scanner, download the latest firmware from the Tru-Test website.

The display is not a touchscreen. You can navigate to options using the Arrow buttons.

To select an option, press the Scan button.

NOTE: The Scan button is also referred to as the Read and/or Select button in your Tru-Test SRS2 RFID scanner user manual.

To return to a previous menu, press the Return button.

Follow the steps below to configure a Tru-Test SRS2 RFID scanner:

  1. Use the Arrow buttons to navigate and press the Scan button to select Settings.

  2. Select General.

    1. Select Date/Time.

    2. Select the current Date, Month, and Year.

    3. Set the Format to MM/DD/YYYY.

    4. Set the Hour and Minute time settings for your time zoneClosed The term "Zone" represents different dairy locations. Platform Zones may be different physical dairy locations (for example, multiple locations across the state or country) or different user-defined locations within a single dairy site (for example, Pens 1-100 are Zone 1, Pens 101-200 are Zone 2, etc.)..
      NOTE: Time settings are in military time.
    5. Press the Return button to return to the General menu.
    1. Select Language/Country.

    2. Set Language to English.

    3. Select your Country.
    4. Press the Return button to return to the General menu.
  5. Set Auto Off to 10m.

  6. Press the Return button to return to the General menu.
  7. Set Vibration to On.

  8. Press the Return button to return to the General menu.
  9. Set Buzzer to Off.

  10. Press the Return button to return to the General menu.
  11. Press the Return button to return to the Settings menu.
  12. Select Bluetooth.

  13. Set Bluetooth to Auto.

    1. Select Advanced.

    2. Set Connect Mode to Default.

    3. Set Output to Default.

    4. Press the Return button to return to the Settings menu.
  15. Press the Return button to return to the General menu.
  16. Press the Return button to return to the Settings menu.
    1. Select Tag Reading.

    2. Set Read ModeClosed The value that appears most often in a set of data. to Continuous.

    3. Set Tag Format to Decimal2.

    4. Set Allow Duplicates to Yes.

    5. Press the Return button to return to the General menu.
