LIST (SHOW) Command

The LIST (SHOW) command generates a DairyComp report that matches your command conditions. In Platform Command Line, LIST and SHOW are interchangeable commands. In DairyComp 305, the LIST command may be used to print the report, while SHOW displays the report on the screen.

The LIST command is a flexible and useful command that can be used to generate reports to assist you with a variety of tasks, including the following examples:

LIST command syntax is spelled out using the examples below:

IMPORTANT: LIST (SHOW) commands require that the FOR keyword is presented before the BY or DOWNBY keyword.



Command (required): DairyComp command.


Switch(es): control the results returned by modifying or limiting the command to specific data. The following switches are supported for LIST (SHOW) in the current Platform release: 




Includes results for both live and dead animals. Without the switch, command results include live animals only.


Limits results to dead cows only.



Display items (required): Items to display as columns in the report. For instance, PEN LACT DIM MILK.

Condition filter: Filter for the command. Available filter: FOR.


Conditional item(s): Item conditions that must be matched to be included in the results. The following conditional operators may be used:

Sort type: Controls the order in which report items display. Available sort types:

Sort Type



Ascending sort (low to high, A - Z, or earliest to latest)


Descending sort (high to low, Z - A, latest to earliest)


Sort item: Item by which to sort. The sort item can be any of the display items included in the command.
